Cheryl Jensen, a resident of Vail, Colorado, established an outdoor recreation based rehabilitation outlet for recent severely wounded veterans in February of 2004. the Vail Veterans Program is an all volunteer program that focuses on the wounded veteran's abilities not their disabilities allowing each of them to build self confidence.
Major Rozelle, a Bronze Star with Valor and Purple Heart recipient lost his lower right leg in Iraq in 2003. After completing his rehabilitation he returned to active duty in Iraq and became the first American soldier amputee in modern times. Major Rozelle currently serves as the Administrator for the Amputee Care Center at Walter Reed Arm Medical Center.
